Admission of Pupils

School admissions are controlled by Warwickshire Local Authority and we advise parents to contact the LA with regards to admissions.

Starting school is an exciting time for children and here at Bilton Infant School, we endeavour to make it as straightforward as possible. We are extremely fortunate to have a committed staff who share the common aim of wanting to give our children the best possible start in life. We strive to achieve a broad and balanced education, which enables our children to feel safe, happy and make progress, all contributing to making our school 'be the best we can be'.

Bilton Infant School has two classes per year group - Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, with up to sixty per year group.

Starting School

If a child is four years old on or before 3lst August, then they may start school in the September.  They join the Reception year.

For those due to start school in September, we host Open Days for you to look around. Further information about this can be made by contacting us via email or by contacting us on 01788  811549

Applications for a school place should be made via the school places link above.

For pupils who are confirmed as starting school with us in September we host a number of opportunities for you and / or your child to visit us.  A timeline of events and dates is posted out to you in early May.

In-year transfer

Children can transfer into our school during the academic year, if spaces are available.  Admissions and in year transfers are made through Warwickshire County Council following their policy.   They can be contacted on Admissions (Eastern area) on 01926 414143 or on the link above.

We  encourage families to look around the school and discuss arrangements prior to accepting a place or starting school with us.

Applying for Year 3 places

Our pupils leave Bilton Infant School at the end of Year 2.   You will need to apply for your child's Year 3 place.  Applications for a Year 3 place should be made online in the Autumn term while your child is in Year 2.

Pupils typically transfer to Bilton Junior School ( which is part of our Bilton Community Federation group of schools.

Pupils may move on to other schools dependent upon parental preferences.

We assist our pupils to make a smooth transition out of our school, beginning in the final summer term.
