Regular attendance at school is important for your child's education and establishes a positive working ethos early in life. Your child should come to school every day unless there are exceptional reasons.
Your child should have attendance of 97% or higher to maximise their learning. Doors are opened at 8:50 a.m. with doors closing and registration at 9.00 a.m. Please join us and be ready for learning on time.
Attending school ‘regularly’ means that children must attend school on every day that they are required to do so.
*Children do not attend school on Teacher Training Days.
Late / Absence Procedures
Any pupil arriving after 9.00 a.m needs to enter school via the front door, so they can be marked in the register as 'late', reasons recorded and lunch choices confirmed.
Please notify us promptly on the first day of a pupil absence, stating the reason why. (01788 811549).
Unexplained absence or lateness may be recorded as unauthorised. In some circumstances, may result in a fine. Please share with us any on-going issues which may affect your child's attendance and punctuality so we can work together to address this.
We will contact you about any concerning patterns or lateness or absences to ensure your child is safe and receiving the best education they can.
Thank you for your commitment and co-operation with these matters.
Headteachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances relating to the application. It is for the Head Teacher to decide what is ‘exceptional’ and it is at their discretion if the circumstances warrant the leave to be granted. Holidays in term time will not be considered as 'exceptional'.
Please note that all holidays should be taken whilst the school is closed—holidays within term time will NOT be authorised.
Please refer to our Attendance policy for more information under ' key information' - ' policies'.
Your child's attendance is our shared priority.
