Physical Development

What do we want our curriculum to achieve?

  • Children show good control and coordination in large and small movements
  • They move confidently in a range of ways, safely negotiating space
  • They handle equipment and tools effectively, including pencils for writing
  • Develop the foundation skills needed for fine motor skills, including body awareness, strength, stability and balance, and visual skills
  • work on the easier skills first and then building gradually to more difficult skills to include:

 - Perceptual and planning

-  Movement skills

-  Sensory skills

How will we fulfil this?

  • use an NHS occupational therapy programme for all our children
  • identify and support pupils identified as needing greater support through the M.O.V.E.S programme
