'Be the best we can be'
Bilton Infant School is a 'Values based Education' school. Our values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an ethos and learning environment which helps to prepare our pupils for positive futures.
The school operates with six core values at its heart.
Care, Co-operation, Responsibility, Respect, Perseverance and Honesty
In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.
The Key Values are:
pupils draw up class rules; elect pupil leaders; carry out roles and responsibilities & take part in pupil questionnaires.
|Rule of law||Pupils learn our school values and rules around behaviour, online safety and personal safety as well as visits from the Police and to the local council.|
|Individual liberty||Pupils learn how to make informed choices around behaviour, rewards, online safety, lunch choices, participation in after school clubs and freedom to share their views and beliefs.|
|Mutual respect||Pupils learn about respect through our values work around respect, co-operation and caring for one another as well as through our All About Me and Taking Care projects. They work together to look after one another, learn about and care for our environment.|
|Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs||Pupils learn about a range of cultures and diversity through our values work, PSHE, literacy and RE curriculum as well as assemblies and visitors into school and trips out.|
