A warm welcome from our Head of School, Mrs Fawbert.
Welcome to our website, where you will find an insight into our lovely school and discover how we put in to practice our values of:
Care, Honesty, Respect, Co-operation, Forgiveness and Resilience
and in doing so:
'Be the best we can be'
Bilton Infant School is a nurturing, fun community school with a play-based approach to learning. We give our children memorable opportunities and have aspirational plans to help our children be the best they can be.
I feel proud of the positive start to their schooling that our children receive here. We have experienced and dedicated staff who ensure high-quality teaching and learning. But further to this, we want the children to enjoy coming to school, having fun and memorable experiences of their time with us. For example, we hold regular family events such as Mother's Day tea parties, 'Donuts for Dads', Grandparents Remembrance tea parties and so on.
We currently have five classes each with up to 30 children, and we are always busy learning. The children thrive within the vibrant and challenging curriculum we provide.
We have extensive grounds and are an 'Opal Play' school, whereby we plan for play throughout lunchtimes as well - in order for our children to experience enriched play opportunities with mud kitchens, sand pits, a wild area, loose parts, dress-up clothes and so on. The children love it and develop essential skills such as co-operation, problem solving, resilience, perseverance and imagination.
Bilton Infant School has an established and committed staff who get to know our children well, nurture them and ensure they make good progress in their learning. We believe we are not only developing academic achievement, but also confident and kind citizens of the future.
I am passionate about involving parents wherever possible, so that they can come into school and share in some special moments together. For example we hold termly church services at St. Mark's Church where the children perform songs to their families. Every Friday we hold a Celebration Assembly where we invite families to see their child receive certificates and awards.
Reading plays a pivotal part of the children's learning and is a prominent feature of our school. Every Monday afternoon the children look forward to a 'Mystery Reader' reading to their class, we have half-termly reading events, a beautiful library, reading certificates, 'Reading for Pleasure' journals and every week I make a book recommendation to the children!
The school is at the heart of the community, and we take great pride in what we achieve and love to share what we are learning with visitors.
If you would like to see us in action, please do make an appointment to come and experience our friendly and nurturing school.
